To Pale Horse 6 - Joe York
« on: February 12, 2016, 10:45:16 am »
Joe has been working on an album for Jimmy and wanted to post pics of it here for you all. While talking to him recently he nearly changed his mind about posting it at all because he felt like he didn't do it any justice. I encouraged him to send me the pictures as I was sure you all would want to see them and here they are.

From Joe: "This is a picture of the back of the album.  The operation Jimmy
commanded was called "Pale Horse" as is the title of his new book!  He is a
hero for sure and really looking forward to reading the book when it comes
out.  The folding photo stand is made out of an Osage blank I got several
years ago at the Classic.  It was my good fortune to attend my first Classic
years ago as I met the best people there as you know."

Thank you Jimmy for your service.
Thank you Joe for your generosity and allowing us a look at your workmanship.

Very nice work Joe. I'm sure Jimmy will love that.  Thanks for letting us look at it.  And a very special thanks to all of our military men and women for their service

Scott:  Thanks for posting the pictures for me.  The package went out via UPS today and is supposed to arrive in Virgina on Thursday!  Must be a long way from Wyoming to take a week!  I am anxious to read Jimmy's book.  I understand he is moving back to Clarksville so the farm will be blessed with his skill with a bow!  Joe

That's some nice work Joe. I'm looking forward to reading his new book as well. Thought 'Southern Roots' was a great read.

Pappy:
Am having a sad morning as I will not make this year's classic due to my wife's health.  And also knowing that Jimmy only has kind words for the album.  It was some kind of disappointment for me as the workmanship was not the best.  No military colored dyes and the copter patterns not those of the ones he probably used in the operation.  It was as if I could not quite find the right ring to follow and get the bend to make a bow look good when at full draw.  I have a couple of things to send for the raffle and hope Miss Joanie will enter my dollar donation in a drawing or two for me!  I am grateful that I still have my daily PA fix.  Joe

I went into the Meeteetse Library today and ordered two copies of Jimmy's Pale Horse book for the library to have.  We have several former paratroopers in our small town and the surrounding country so I hope they will be able to read Jimmy's book.  Joe
