Very nice bow and cool handle. I bet that took quite a few feet of kangaroo lacing...and a lot of patience.

Beauty! Black locust is such wonderful wood when handled correctly and you show that perfectly with this bow.

Thank you Richard.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Beautiful bow, that doesn't resemble the BL we have around here. The color looks more like honey locust.

Badger,
we have honey locust on the property here too, just haven't tried any yet...keeping a couple of those pokies trimmed of low branches for future staves.
Most of the Blk Locust we have here seem to be dying from the top down...just like most of our mulberry.

Pat B,
yeah, it took about 24 lengths of lacing approx 18" lengths and one brass hollow lacing needle
when i'm working on things my ancestors worked, singing the songs my ancestors sang, dancing the same dances, speaking the same language, only then  I feel connected to the land, THIS land, where my ancestors walked for thousands of years...

Beautiful. Picture perfect tiller.

Like the others said, tiller looks perfect. This bow is beautiful and I like what you've done with the handle.

I also checked out your site, haven't read all - but will return often. I will thank you for that great site with lots of info, thoughts and your beautiful work. Your pottery is mind blowing.
