Very nice stick Pearl! That snake skin is really vibrant and crisp. Your recipient will be proud to own it no doubt.

That picture flipping thing is cool! Thanks for the kind words fellas. I haven't made a locust bow from start to finish in at least 100 bows.

I would rather not say anything more than; black locust, WDB, water buffalo, 8 strand D97, bunny string silencers.

Looks like it broke in tension. Is there a knot or pin where it broke?  Did you use heat when you went back on the caul? How long after you heated it did you wait before stressing it?

Yes tension break,no pins,i let it sit for a few hours outside.ive done it before with osage and a light toasting.i think it would have held fine. At a lower weight.the way it exploded makes me think it was uber dry!

Badger,i don't want to give up the specs as to not tip off my trade guy.i agree although there was not enough mass and I simply asked to much out off the wood!no big deal, if a broken bow discouraged me I would have hung up the rasp a long time ago!lol!

After a few heat corrections to get tracking right I got a string on mine this weekend. The right limb is the upper limb. The left has an knot about two-thirds down that I'm slowly easing into. I would like for it to work just a little more than it is. My buddy Greg AKA badly bent just left my house and he was helping me tiller it out a little and we both shot some arrows out of it at short draw maybe around 20 to 24 inches. Shooting nice and hard with good early string tension. May be hard to see but this thing's like a roller-coaster up and down everywhere
