I'm not in the habit of naming the bows I make, but if I was to call this one something, it would be "Phoenix" or similar.
This was originally a 135lb English yew selfbow for a customer that sadly exploded at the nock due to sideways twisting (caused I think by a badly-made side nock, or stresses in the limb that I couldn't see. I'll blame myself, it's easier!)
The break happened at 4" from the nock, and the bow limb split into three pieces, with an overall break length of about 16". I glued all the bits back together with epoxy and chopped the nock off. The tip was piked, a new nock fitted and the 75" bow re-tillered.
It's now 122@30" and I'm afraid I don't have any full draw shots because there's no way in hell I'm holding it at full draw long enough to take a photo. It's bad enough pulling the thing knowing one limb is 50% split and epoxy. It'll get shot at some point and I'll make sure it's photographed in action - either blowing up or not! I might add a picture later of a half-draw or something.
