It is nice looking stuff.  I was given a milk crate full of lapidary rock which included the sprectrolite.  It has that fire opal look to it inside the rock.  I would just hate to wreck the rock if it can't be knapped so I thought I would ask others if they have tried it.

The last nodule I got form Spock  :)had a vibration
and glow that struck me funny. I have it in the lead
lined vault. Want to trade? :o

I am taking the box of rocks  that I got with me to Mike Cooks on Sunday to a knap in.  I may let Mike take on the challenge.  He needs to cook up to Mookaite and P-wood for me anyway so maybe I will make a trade with him.

slab a section of it and find out.

it's wicked looking rock, but does it need to be polished in order to present those colors?

i guess you could slab, knap, polish just enough to get the effect?

I was curious what it looked like also. I Googled it and wow. If your rock looks like the stuff that pops up under images, that is some pretty rock!

I don't think this stuff will knap. but it would be awesome. I have seen it at Gem shows as Labrodorite. would make great knife handle.
