perfect tool for debarking shoots

You guys will thank me for this if you haven't tried it yet. Next time you need to strip bark from arrow shoots, grab a vegetable peeler. It worked like a charm and cut the time it usually takes in half. It cuts on the fore stroke and back stroke. I was even able to remove wood when I needed too, but mine was new and sharp. It worked well on the standing dry shoots as well as the green ones.

Good idea. Its sound familiar, like Ive seen that before. But I cnat put a finger on it.

That is a good idea. I use a bow scraper or the back edge of my pruners.

I have always use a scrapper also but will give that a try on the next batch I work on.

bet your veggy peeler dont debark as fastas my tool , coppied it from one i found.Tony

But can yours peel potatoes? 

I actually was temped to try to curve the blade on my peeler a little. I may give it a try.

put something like copper or brass rod in the curved part of the peeler, wrap it tight then try to bend it the way you want so the out side of the peeler dont bend more than the sharpened part. just a thought. Tony p.s. im gonna give potatoes a try tonight

Thanks for the advise, I was wondering how I might get a controlled bend with that slit in there. If it doesn't work, a replacement is only a buck at the $$ store.
