I love your flat osage recurves, and maybe this one the most.  Those recurves look to be really opening up!
The specs and profiles alone are enough to make me drool, then the amazing character and color of the bow is just drop dead gorgeous. 
No other bows inspire me to get right back to the workbench. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the recurves open up a bit. Had them stiff before but wasn't happy with the comfort of draw. After a little scraping, just some grains, I had it were I wanted.
And yes, I'm too got alot of inspiration from your work!

I think he fumes them with ammonia, which gives it that amazing color Chuck.

Chuck, that osage was a fresh yeller stick. It is aged/fumed within 5 days. You can watch the process here:

have you ever tested other method like bakingsoda, vinegar+steel wool+tea(to add more tannin)?  and are they have same effect like ammonia fuming?(smoth surface, chemical stain, soft wood like rubber?)

I have tested all above, except the baking soda. Do you have a recipe for that? I will try for sure. The effects can reached only with the ammonia fuming. At least my experience so far.

Currently I'm working on some other bows with the fuming, so far very promising ...   we will see.

I know in industrial use ammonia fuming is used for bending wood. But here with high pressure, nothing for my simple fuming machinery.
Wood bending is a lot easier with the steaming or heat gun method.
