Great job on the bow build . I tried some sap wood on osage earlier bows with little success . How did you get it dry with out the back splitting open. Arvin
Well I'll say!!  Osage is king!!

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Arvin, when I cut the saplings I immediately bandsawed wood off the belly, and every one of them split in a major way to the pith, but no further. I left the bark on for a couple years and the back was good for me.
Bob, I did take at least one growth ring of sapwood off from under the bark...not near as easy to follow as heart wood.

Killer bow!  Very nice, expertly crafted bow from that wild looking sapling. Looks like a lively and smooth shooter too from the full draw pic. Nicely done.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Lovely job. Elegant, short but with a long draw, smooth lines and an excellent tiller. SWEET!

 I LIKE IT!!  Good work!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

That is a beauty. You nailed it!  8)

I really dig those tips! Almost Asiatic in a way, like siyahs that aren't glued on. Sure wish I could find some good Osage here!
