In the Hundred Years War, Welsh archers probably had English livery longbows issued. I made up two Vikibg style longbows of Swiss elm, one backed with linen. At first they shot as well as my yew bow but soon developed a lot of string follow. I still shoot with them though. Cheers, Erik
