Arrow Shafts

I would like to get some river cane shafts and red osier shafts.

I have 3, 100 packs of full lenght left wing. These are somewhat old, so they have a high oil line.
One pack is missing about 4 feathers and another pack is missing about 2 feathers.

What color are the feathers, and how many shafts are you looking for. I might have some.

No, just raw shafts, hopefully a little bit straight.

The reason I am asking is that I looked at a map of Red Osier and I live in one of about 6 states where it does not grow.

I would like to harvest my own, but would have to do some traveling.

Where do you live, Neuse? There is probably another shafting material that grows near you.

Pat,

I live in Dallas, TX.

Viburnum is supposed to grow here, but I have never been able to identify any growing in the wild. I think it is used as a landscape plant.

As a follow up. I will be traveling to Branson, Missourri this month, maybe I can find a place there or along the way to harvest.
