We got a lot done today. First up was the top half door. We made it a little larger than the bottom door so they will both open when the top is down.
We installed a heavy duty I-bolt in the front that goes through both sections. I'm going to strap it to the front of the trailer to add some support against the wind when I'm driving. We also put a bolt through both sections under each window. It will lock both halves together and keep the wind from shaking the top half......hopefully.
We rolled it outside to put the roof on. This is the first time I have been able to get back and look at it. It doesn't look to redneck
We quickly realized we had spaced the roof supports wrong. I was out of 2x6 lumber so I had to sacrifice the back of my bow caul to make a new support to fix the mistake.
The roof went on fairly easy. Liquid nails and washered screws are holding it down. We caulked all the seams. I'm going to start painting it tomorrow. After its painted I'm going to spray them with Flex Seal. If it leaks I could throw a tarp over it
We took the top half off to paint it. It took three of us to pick it up off of the bottom half. Its got some weight to it but its not to bad. Two guys could lift and carry it. The top half is most of the weight. I wanted to put the windows in but decided it would be easier to paint it first.
