Kirk Side Notch

It's not exactly to the form but I'm really happy with this point. I feel it's my best to date and things are starting to flow for me.
Mullet gave me a couple of pieces of nice Georgetown the other weekend and I really like the stuff.
Much more control over my percussion and flaking. I'm gonna probably work the notches a little more this weekend and see if I can get them just a little deeper. I think I can. One step where a flake ran out but oh well...
Two things I've changed recently with my knapping are:
1. Remove thick gold wedding band from cradling hand when using percussion.
2. Take more time to sharpen my pressure flaker and ABRADE!

I have to remove my ring when I use digging bars, axes, sledge hammers and pick axes. I tend to smash my hand if I don't. I'll try that trick, anything could help my skills!

Looks like a keeper!
I learned a long time ago not to worry about little problems when the point comes out like this one! I really like the way it curves from the center to the edge and from the base to the point. Great job!

It looks good, and I agree with Steven on the hinge.

You don't want gold-plated arrow-heads? Ever open a beer bottle with the wedding band?
My engineer ring used to be a bit too big for my pinky, then I fell at work. Now I can't get it off without soap or oil

Nothing wrong with that one Steve. I lost my Wedding ring off the back of a drill rig outside of Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1977. Haven't had one since. I bang my left pinky finger when I'm percussion flaking.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Oww!!! These comments make me flinch! Smashing fingers! Well I'm glad I'm not old enough for a wedding band yet haha. But fantastic point! Love the color!

2. Take more time to sharpen my pressure flaker and ABRADE!
x2
And taking extra time to set up platforms is also key
pare those things with good support and your cookin with mow gas.
nice pont!
