Got it all done today thanks to the guy in the picture below. Cody showed up with sledge and wedge in hand to tackle the tough stuff. He may look a little thin but that guy is strong and hard working, he's also very focused on the task and most importantly he has youth on his side.

We threw quite a few splits back into the reject pile do to flaws and poor quality, mostly osage. The hackberry was pretty darn nice, very clean and straight. I'm sure a percentage of the osage I piled in my shop from yesterdays work will also be poor but there are also some gooding looking prospects in the pile.
Next time I am offered some wood from a tree service I think I'll be a little more selective on what I mark for them to leave behind. I'll also be a little more inclined to keep my ambitions in check and error on the side of smaller amounts.
