Laburnum nocks

Hi

Today I made some special nocks for a 74" walnut warbow with 70#@32". They are made of laburnum and I hope you guys like them. I will probably make them a little bit slimmer tomorrow. The bow was shot 200 times till now with selfnocks and it shoots pretty well.

Hi

The sapwood looks and performs like hickory, so I built it like my hickory warbow. It doesn`t take as much set as hick.
Unfortunately I can`t test the beautiful and darker waltnut heartwood, because I don`t have a good piece of it to make a warbow.
But with walnut I miss the bacon like odor of hickory.  ;)

Labernum splits as soon as you look at it! It has very little strength between the fibers. Make sure you build up the ends of your string so they don't cut into it.

Thanks for the advice but we already built some laburnum bows with selfnocks and we never had problems with the string.
