Very nice! I missed whoever tried to tell you of all people anything about english longbows/warbows, but I'm sure whatever they said was comical.  :) I once told a guy that I made a couple "warbows" around 120lbs, etc. He said "thats it!?!", and went on to tell me how real warbows would of historically been around 300 or 400 lbs. I tried to explain to him his error, he was way out of his expertise, but the guy took my correction personally and about beat me up over it! ;D So I just let him blab on about whatever fantasy he was living in at the moment. Very nice bow though, I wish people would just bring me yew staves...  :'(
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

Cheers guys :)
@ Toomany.... great story, but, yeah you should man up and be pulling at least 300#  ::) LOL
I didn't even try to get that one back to 32", I did shoot a few at 28" but that was plenty for me. It's too easy to be gung ho and damage yourself.
I'm not sure the guy I made it for will really manage it, he's a big strong old bloke, but with virtually no experience! Mind he managed 80# at 32" ok.

Just found this thread.

What a bow! -- Gorgeous

Beautiful tiller.
I like your setup, esp. the large analog scale. My digi scale is getting too small for my old eyes.

      Great Bend!
Always a pleasure looking at your work.

      Question:
How many rings did you go down while
"feathering" the sapwood at the tips?

I don't really know, must have been 5 or 6, I reduced the sapwood thickness by about half at one tip. On the other it was just a few rings on one edge, where it was at an angle.
