PK be careful sanding the nodes down, you can seriously weaken the shaft if ya go to far. :o

What I do with the nodes is heat them and compress them by rolling them on a hard, smooth surface under a hardwood block. You can make them about the thickness of the internode area and not loose any strength. The nodes are a cane arrows weak link so I try not to remove any critical material from them.     Pat

Thanks pat I will remember that, I buy my shoots from the hardware store so I don't know where they come from, all I know is they sure pack a wollop.
