horn nock adhesive

Hi peoples, i need to replace the nocks on my longbow as the previous owner has made a horrendous job of it,i was going to try gorilla glue,anyone tried it? Thanks.

All i've seen here is gorilla glue which is brown,super glue and wood glue.

Super glue (CA) is perfect for horn nocks.  It gets right into the fibres of both the wood and the horn and doesn't come off no matter how hard you try.

Superglue or araldite. Both will release with heat if needed.

if you are using epoxy, the slow set type is what you want. the other never goes very hard, is not as strong and can leave a 'chewy' layer around the base of the cone that's harder to tidy up.
super glue needs a good fit as it won't fill gaps (not that there should be any, though)

If you are still reading this post, then use a slow epoxy. It will hold even if the fit is not perfect and not come loose. Just make sure the bow end and the inside of the horn is cleaned of dust and oil. However if you ever break part of the horn tip you will have to heat it enough to start to burn it to get it back off or break it off in pieces to remove it.
