Rich,
Haven't caught up with you in a loooong time.
I have a question about the carving....is there anything that you can't do WELL artistically?
you always amaze me.
Nice to see your latest...

And by-the-way you are not allowed to go belly-up. That's an order,.....uh.... Sir. ;)

Fellas, finally got the wood burning under control and ready to paint. I put the bird back on the rock to make sure the fanned tail feathers will fit like I wanted so I shot some close-up's for ya to see where it stands. I need to brush clean and coat with sanding sealer and commence to painting.

mullet, Del, B2, country, Ken.....thank you for the comments fellas,  I thought I would post a few pics of a "practice feather" so you can see how they change color depending on the light angle , also the last pic is what it looks like in inside ambient light......BUT I am currently having Mr. JW looking at the colors to make sure I get them absolutely correct before handpainting every feather on the bird.....JW I cant thank you enough for your expertise and willingness to help....thank you sir.

Fade the dark into the lighter tips on the feathers and you got it!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Rich, that feather looks real enough to fletch an arrow with. Outstanding job all around true work of art.
