Are those sheds? They kinda look like it...they look dull and lack any color, wrinkled, and look more brittle and thinner than an actually skinned skin...  ???

Reticulated python.
I have one that is very similar that I got back in the 1970s and it was quite old then. I think the one I have was urine tanned, a simple tanning solution used world wide.

I ran into one that size once and urine tanned my pants.

Lol!   Made my morning.

Looking at the pattern I'm wondering if it isn't burmeses, or rock python.  What state did it come from?

They are old and a bit brittle, but they are not sheds.  I believe they were bought at an estate sale in Illinois.

Yep it is Rock python (Python sebae) The color on the skins are from age/tanning.
If i remember correctly they can be around 22-24'.
Weird that one is skinned from "wrong" side
It's better to ask and look like a fool than not to ask and remain one...

Aaron, think about what you want this skin to do. If you just want it to look good on a mediocre bow, then by all means use it. If you want to dress up a nice bow and maintain performance, this is not your skin. This python "leather" can be used on a bow, but it is not ideal. What you are look ing for is rawhide - skins that have only been air dried. Leather is far too porous and stretchy to do anything but cause problems on the back of a bow. If you need a set of skins, hit me up and we will work something out.

BTW- that leather will be great for many projects so don't throw it away!

Got it, thanks Scott.  I have a few rattlesnake skins I can use right now, but I might take you up on those skins on the future.
