cresting question bout snakskin
« on: July 16, 2014, 10:24:22 am »
I would like to crest some Tonkin arrows with some snake skin to match a bow I am working on. I am putting wdb skins on my bow and would like to have them on my arrows also. My questions is, Is there any way to thin these skins out so they lay better on the arrow and not add to much weight? Do I just give up and not put the skins on?

Did the Native Americans think about all this that much or just do it?

WDB skins are pretty thin as it is. I doubt you will be able to thin them any more. They get pretty flexible when re-hydrated.  I'd say to just put them down and go with it.

I guess I will do just that. Go with it! I will add some extra weight up front. Maybe I just needed a push! Lol! Thanks.
