NRA bow 2 (it came back)
« on: November 20, 2013, 01:12:53 am »
Can say I'm perfectly happy with this one I ended up getting rushed on it to meet the dead line and have a few things that upset me about , first is that there is about two inches of set after unstringing (lot if natural deflex but I did get it to a mild reflex) I could live with that seeing as it still shoots well enough, the other problem is the handle is to large, not uncomfortably so but it feels monstrous compared to my others. 55# at  28", 59.5" ntn. This one did however have the benefit of one of my best snakeskin jobs yet has a super glue finish under poly which is compleat lay smothe in a few places got a bit messed up at the end where the tip broke earlier on.

Forgot to mention that I wasn't able to get a fd before shipping(which was a small fortune) it looks ugly at brace so you'll have to go on my word that the tillers any good. I would like to thank the NRA for covering my materials cost this time around .

Fine looking bow all the way around.  Is it Osage?

So....how did you manage to get the NRA to do that?  I find I'm the one giving them money...

The negotiation wasn't on my part but I did the other bow and our representative was impressed by it ad asked if I could do one for the national convention, I belive she is doing some sort of project with it as well, I also don't think that the donation came directly from the NRA but an individual member.

Well a while back this bow showed back up with me. They said when they took it out of the box the tip overlay was broken off looks like it was dropped in shipping. Not such a bad thing though let me fix some of the problems with it, such as re doing the handle .tillered 5 pounds out of it and decided  that no mater what I did to it it would still look funky, this resulted in naming it kinkey which is hidden under the handle. NRA is putting it in a different auction .
