  I am like you Pat, not big on shooting bears. Here in Ca. they are starving and dieing from thirst.

Our bears here in New Brunswick definitely don't have that problem. They're a bunch of fatties!

That would have been a great sighting.  I like to watch bear in the woods.  Had  a chance to watch four different bear one night and they all acted different.

Derik, I was walking down our driveway a few years ago with our shepherd, Sister, when she bowed up and started barking. I looked up and there was a sow and 3 cubs standing in our driveway about 30 yards ahead. Sister charged and all 4 bears turned and ran up the hill into the woods. Sister then turned and ran back home leaving me standing there all alone.  :o  Man's best friend?  ;D
