black bamboo?

theres a large black bamboo grove on my parents property, does any bamboo make a good arrow?
can someone point me in the right direction for finding a list or something of good bamboo species?

I cut some down recently. I noticed that the shafts are tapered and couldn't find any that were close to uniform thickness. There isn't much meat to sand wither although its some strong stuff. May try to get another batch and be more selective.
