Short osage stave vs. long draw ?

I have a clean stave that will go 62" from end to end, making a 60" bow..

Problem is I have a long 28" draw, closing in on 29"..  What can I do with this stave that will work with my draw length ??

What shape, etc.. Sure would appreciate any help ...

  Pat, I would recurve it, at least a moderate flipped tip. A 60" osage will make 28" with no problem, without the flip tips it will stack slightly.

How wide is the stave. If its a stiff handled bow, you can give it wider than usual limbs eg 2"(and flip the tips like Badger said)

Flipping or recurving the tips is an excellent plan to reduce string angle
Making it a little wider as well.
60" ntn with a 50# draw shouldn't be that big of a problem with osage. Even with a 4" stiff handle.

Sinew or rawhide is also a fantastic option.

Extend it with spliced in static tips or levers.

Pat, I've made a few osage recurves that were 60"t/t, and tillered them to 28". I like the limbs to bend right up to the handle so I barely feel the handle give as I come to full draw. 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" most of the way out the limbs then taper into the recurves or reflexed tips.
