That is sweet!  The only bow at my museum is an Eskimo bow.  Still cool but wish they had more.  Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. Did you argue with them that it wasn't Osage and supposed to be strung the opposite way? ;)

The string was loose, although it wouldn't surprise me if it had been strung backwards.
I informed the lady helping me that the wood was not osage. She was very helpful, but very unknowledgable. She was more of a secretary than a historian.
The bow was labeled Osage when it was donated to the Park in 1930. I doubt anyone has examined it since then.
