Just got my Clifton cabinet scrapers...
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:56:12 pm »
Here's the question. Do they come sharpened or do I have to sharpen them myself? They seem to have a slight burr on one edge, but I've never used a cabinet scraper before. Is this what I should expect? Thanks.

I would run a flat file over the edge, keeping it flat then burnish it, rolling the burr on each side of each edge.

My general rule on all new woodworking equipment is that nothing comes sharpened and ready for use.  Of course there are exceptions...... But they are rare IMHO.  Russ

Tried em out and they work pretty dang good. Found a couple videos on how to sharpen them for future reference. Thanks guys.
