Rivercane and Dogbane
« on: February 04, 2014, 08:07:05 pm »
I have been wanting to go to a spot and get some of last years dogbane but decided to go to another place and get some rivercane shafts. I walked through the edge of a field to the rivercane and cut several shafts. As I was returning to my truck, I realized I had walked through a big patch of dogbane....double score!

Nice haul...you should get some shooters out of them.  That river cane is really green in color.  the cane I've found isn't quite that green.
looks good though,

I wish I could find some dog bane!!  I discovered it at a Primitive Skills event at a knap-in, and cannot locate any near me.  Tough stuff!!
