A friend of mine with a retarded dog that likes to eat anything, especially metal (had a belly full of metal buttons last time she was x-rayed), got into their Christmas presents and actually ate a whole pack of bath soaps, among other things.

'Tis the season!

P.S. - if your dogs are anything like ours, their ears would probably make for some nice mittens... just another option for you ;)
