You're likely going to have some creep at the handle glue line as the younger wood "cures". Another controversial topic. >:D
The bright side is it will separate that abomination of a handle from the  simple beauty of the main stave. You're going to have to do some skillful work patching that huge gash in the side when you put a proper handle on. First time using a hatchet? :P

Yah, I guess you see where I fit in the whole seasoned/dried debate eh' Pat?

Actually the whole grip was an afterthought. The stave didnt have enough depth and I couldnt see cutting 10-12" off it just to make a bendy. Once I had that handle block glued on I realized the possibilities where endless, so I went all out with my rasps and had fun. Sure feels good when drawn. I shot the bow tonite and all I can hear is the string cutting the air, even with no rug or strike plate the arrow makes no noise leaving.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Gonna be sweet I think when she's all prettied up. But your bows all seem pretty awesome Mr. Pearlie.

I don't think the handle looks goofy... I like it. Outside the box though, Mr. Curvy Tip Boy!  8)

Looks great. Excellent way to show the coloration in aged wood. That handle looks like it just nestles in your hand.

Nice.
Straight wood may make a better bow, but crooked wood makes a better bowyer

Looking good Pearl.  I really like that handle style.  The handle makes a lot of difference in how well I shoot and that one looks like it would work well.  The mixed ages of wood is a cool idea.
