New Point
« on: December 02, 2013, 04:22:54 pm »
I plan on hafting this little guy onto my first arrow. It's some local stone that I heat treated. I have the shaft ready, turkey feathers and finally a half way decent point. I'll post it up next week sometime. The glass one i made from a Herrudara bottle but don't tell my wife  >:D.
Thanks for looking

Thanks Bowman, the base was a little thick so I couldn't notch it like these pros do but I'm happy with it. It's the first one that I didn't blow one of the ears off.

I still have a hard time focusing on thinning the ends first. I know I'm supposed to but my skills limit my decisions.

nice one knapperhead, don't worry those notches are fine, I don't think ya want deep notches on a hunting point anyway

Thanks for the compliments......
That rock was pretty grainy but I cooked it twice for 24 hours and made it a lot more workable.
