I was delivering the mail the other day and seen that a lady friend that I knew had someone to trim her maple tree in her yard ,, the tree had been trimmed years ago so what was cut off was very straight wood,, she said I could get what I wanted and I am a pack rat  ::) so I went back with a chainsaw and got the good stuff,,It is hard maple also.......... Some of it is good  for hunting weight staves, kids  staves, many handles for axes, knives etc ,,, Just couldnt pass it up.

Looks like a lot of good clean stuff.  Well done.  Are you going to strip the bark or split some in half?

Tom

Yes it is very clean and straight............I think I will split some of the larger pieces and not remove the bark.......And just seal the ends on the smaller stuff,,, I have dried small hickory staffs in whole pieces without any major splitting as long as they are kept away from heat.
