That's why I've been putting off a meare heath bow with actual dimensions.  It just shouldn't work, and I can't justify wasting a piece of yew for a genuine replica.

   I have always felt that gently rounding th eback of the bow had a similar affect to trappng the back. About the same as if working with a 6' stave.

   I've made dozzens of HICKORY bows (my favor white wood) and if your bow picked up that much string follow only one thing can cause that.
   ( I've let HICKORY bows strung up all day to many times to count. It won't efect it like that.)
  Your woods not seasoned enough.

Same here.My hickory bows are'nt acting in that way.There'll from staves.Even the ones that are'nt heat treated.
