Surprise fly shop primitive plains arrows
« on: July 30, 2013, 07:50:53 pm »
I went into the local feather shop that just opened up in town and after talking to the owner found out he was a knapper! Before I knew it he had given me over 100 turkey feathers and 2 points he just made! I decided to haft the points onto a couple of shafts and here's what I got :)

A feather shop...what's this world coming to anyway!  You'd think we were in the middle ages!  Nice arrows bud!

So did you give one, or both to him? ;)  Be cool to have them crossed and hanging on the wall. ;)  Might get more points and feathers. ;) 8)

Cool! 8)  Good luck with the hunt! ;)  I have only had bear once.  Had it fried, and broiled.  Both were good.  To me, it tasted like a cross of beef, and venison. Those look like they will do the job!  The belly hairs make good fly tying material.  Might be some trade material there.  In fact the all the hair will make good material for fly tying.  Where are you going to hunt bear at?  Any Huckle Berries in the area you are hunting?  Gotta have pictures of course. ;) :)

Lucky you, Bryce. I love the shape of those points. You did a great job hafting them, too...the arrows look fine!!
