ID This Cane or Boo?
« on: July 15, 2013, 06:55:36 pm »
I cut these today from a roadside. About 5 or 6 feet tall, no leaves until last foot or so. About 3/8 to 1/2" thick. No highly pronounced nodes. Fairly easy to cut without cracking/splintering.

Can anyone ID them?

Here is another pic. Site won't let me post a pic that shows much. Would be great for postage stamps.  >:(

Maybe a shot of several and how they're growing together.  Clumping or running bamboo?  Make an arrow from it and see how it shoots.  That what I do. lol  :-X
Florida to Kwajalein to Turkey and back in Florida again.  Good to be home but man was that an adventure!

It could possibly be Japanese Arrow Bamboo. Makes good arrows but physically light.

I have a much better photo but the site won't take it. I can't crop it to size without losing what you need to see.

PM me if you would like me to e mail it to you.

Go to tinypic.com you can upload your pic there and they will give a link to post. You can also open a photobucket account and post you pics in there. From there you can get a link to post on here also. Others may have ideas also. That's just what I usually do.

You might can try turning the resolution down on your camera.

Also, instead of cropping the photo you could in paint reduce the size, this doesnt crop but just makes it smaller
