Yeah you guys read it right. I thought maybe there were some others out there that may have a few. We have always had a few goats around our place. I saw this on youtube and figured what the heck! Our new WMA does not allow horses or atvs(HOORRAH) thats a good thing. I also live across the Ohio river from a great deal of Shawnee Nat forrest,and I dont think a horse or mule would be to keen on an open boat ride. Soooo pack goats it is these ladies are both Boers both were bottle fed as babies and super friendly. Really not much to it they want to be with us and hardly notice the packs. Still working on the boat riding,and I think with a travois they could help drag a deer. Not to mention how cool will it be to walk out past wheelie bow outdoor channel guy with a stick bow and a goat dragging your deer,and I never mow!!!!!

I'd put an orange vest on the little guy. Albino and Piebald deer are a rare trophy in the deer woods. People are crazy.

Ridgerunner they can carry about a third of their weight,the big white one weighs about 140lbs, lil brown one is still young.
I would NEVER take them out during firearm season.

I just tie them out,I have toyed with the idea of using as a decoy. Im not sure what a deer would make of them,although at the right time with a lil deer "perfume" hmmmmm.

They will follow us fairly easy, they do get somewhat distracted by tasty leaves.

Goats can have some rather charming personalities.  Doubt they would much worry a deer while you were there hunting.  Bring an old billy with you for cover scent....don't forget a clothespin for your own nose.

Very cool! I saw an episode of "meat eater" the guys brother uses llamas to pack gear with. Travels them around in a panel van.

     I have seen articles on pack goats.  I would think, that they would make excellent decoys, or at least allay any skittishness on the deer's part, they are pretty much just a domesticated deer.  My Lieutenant in the FD, had one, and it was hand raised, and he came home late one night, and drove up to the house, and he had the window down, so he could stick his hand out with the garage door opener, which was picky, and as he turned to stick his arm out , and here is his goat with it's face  an inch from his!  He pretty much chewed a hole in the seat!
