alright last pictures put some true oil on(3coats)and then some carnauba wax...which turns out to make the perfect coating for a ski with the effects from our latest April shower,finally made the stringnow she's done!

I got some hackberry Im playing around with right now...
everyone sais "heat treat it"
I trapped the back and lightly toasted the belly, but I don't really think the toasting has done a difference, as it was very gentle...
I just don't like the look of toasted wood on the bellys.
I only just realized how thick hackberry needs to be...with the dimensions I roughed my bow out, it seems like it would of made a very heavy hickory bow or elm bow, but the bow feels like it will only make around 40-ish pounds... :(

thank you, I have found that to be true also the thickness is a bit more than more dense woods but the strength of the back is impressive and the tempering of a belly was almost a must it really brought the performance And the weight up ;)
