Wow , sexy bow , The wood looks similar to the canary wood in our shop. I have been making a few hickory backed R/D bows and they seem to tiller out quite easily.

rudderbows, I had the stuff positively IDed by a local specialty wood supplier yesterday. He took one look at a small piece I brought in and said it was canary. It really is excellent belly wood. I've built 8 bows in 3 different styles with it and it behaves very consistantly no matter the config. Almost no initial handshock and very low initial set. It will chrysal if you start the curve at the wrong end though.
