Eastern red cedar source?
« on: November 12, 2007, 12:50:42 am »
I have a friend who builds beautiful bows. He just made one from eastern Red Cedar, and wants to build another. He has lost the contact info for the gentleman who sold him the billets.

If any of you know a supplier for ERC billets or staves, please let me know so I can pass the info along to Charlie.

Thanks,
Gene

very generous, Pappy. Charlie's 85 and lives in Colorado, though, so I'm afraid we'll have to pass.

Thanks,
Gene

I got an e-mail from Charlie not long ago after the PA came out with "The Story Of Elkie" came out. Charlie sent the sinew for Elkie to me. I told Charlie I had an ERC stave I would send him but never heard back. When you talk to Charlie ask him if he got my e-mail and if not, I'll send him the stave I have.    Pat

Will do, Pat. I know he's had a lot of trouble with his computer lately. It's about to drive him nuts!

Thanks,
Gene

Yep, he's a true gentleman of the old school. I spoke with him tonight, and he may have his computer fixed. He'll be on here shortly if he does.

Glad I could help, Pat. I'm trying to get him back on here, but he's still wrestling with the computer.
