Floor tillered.......
« on: March 02, 2013, 09:52:32 pm »
My very first bow is floor tillered. Hickory is some awesome wood.
Now I need to build a tillering tree and put a long string on it.
I am really having fun at this.
I did all my shaping with a Stanley sureform. Had that thing left over from my boat building days.
And good plans for a tiller tree?

Anything to pull ur bow down on will work as long as it's safe  ::) ::). However i rarely use a tillering tree anymore because there's so much more to tillering than just the aesthetics of the limbs bending....

2x4 with nails every two inches is a simple and cheap way.

building a pulley system is just as cheap and it's safer for you and your bow. You'll be glad you did it. It's also very convenient for monitering your weight if you get a pull scale.

Care to expand on that, Zion?
