Primitive Archery Set

This sounds like a great motivation to do my first fully natural/primitive bow and arrow.  Not sure if I'll get it done prior to the classic but I'll try.  The glue and points will be new to me.  I'll get to work on a bow and arrow while I read up on glue.  I'd like to try to do it from material I gather up here in the Pittsburgh area as much as possible.  Thanks for the challenge!

I have been working on my set today,, if you need any help just ask,,i will b at classic on Monday if you get there early and need help,,this is what got me into primitive archery,,to kill a deer in the woods the native americans walked with the same equipment they carried many moons ago,,i hope some more people will take up this challenge,,i will start to post pic of my set tomorrow

Thanks osagejack!  That is a goal of mine as well.  How incredible that experience must be...  I'll do some leg work first but I'll probably take you up on that offer.  I'll arrive at the classic Thursday night.  See yinz there!

Here's the set I'm bringing to the classic:

Osage Bow,  50" NtoN, 43# @ 24"  Hemp string (I'm going to make a sinew string for this time permitting)
Osage Arrows 25" long, 430 grains each, pheasant wing fletching, blunt tips
Chamois leather quiver and bow case.

Inspired by Osage Indian designs.

Bow is looking good Osagejack!

Patrick, really fantastic looking set!  Wow!  Is there anything holding the structure in place in the quiver or is it all leather?

Rob, there is no support structure inside the quiver.  It's all soft leather held together by leather lacing.

Where is this event being held, sounds like fun, im getting into the trad stuff , a friend made me a redoak mollie , it shoots awesome, just made a cowhide quiver to match my cowhide grip. Wont make this year, but maybe next year.
