Nice bow Akila. She looks like one of Akila's bows.  8) The shape of the handle and the grain configuration are as sexy as it gets. Very cool bow.

Wow!! That is a sweet-looking, hard-working, piece of nasty goodness.   8)  I bet it shoots too! Nicely done sir.

Thanks alot for your compliments...whatt is interesting aboute this bow, is that, i manage to tiller this bow, in 20 minutes...i did som floor tillering first, and try to make the entire limb of the bow do a little bend, and whenn i put it to the tiller tree, the bottomb limb wass done, and the top limb, i had to do a little scraping , and it wass done in 20 minutes...i wass realyy happy with that...:)....the ratio between heart wood, and saap wood, is arrounde 50-50....aniway, its realy a weird piece of yew, becose at one end, there is no clear separation, between saap wood and heart wood...it seam to be only heart wood, and some kind of  saap wood ...but it dosent have that wite clear colore...its kinda between...wite, and  brown...a combination  or something like that...probably becose the diameter of the branch, wass kinda small...

Here is one of the tips that i wass talking aboute...here u can see better ....there is no clear definition of saap wood....it looks like there is only heart wood... i think there is  still enugh heart wood on those limbs ....and aniway, the bow is a light bow...its not verry powerfull....i dont know, iff it would have been ok, iff it where to be 50lbs or so...

Thank you all for your nice words...the brace its a little bigger, thenn usual...becose of the shape, of those rigid "siyah's", the string wass sliping to one side...so, this is why, the brace its a little bigger...its 1" above my tumb..
PS...Del..whatt is that "mice" that u are talking aboute??..:))...sorry, my english is not so great..

Splendid job on a difficult piece. When I started reading the post I was thinking " take the reflexed end off and make its shorter and wider" but then I kept reading through and you produced a really nice recurve outta that piece. even though its low weight its still an exceptional bow. That yew sure is pretty finished up. I may have to get to that one piece I have and see what I can do with it.   Danny

Oh, sweet.  Nothing like getting a bow out of a scrap piece.  8)
Don't shoot!
