The river willow in my yard has some long straight shoots. Worth cutting and drying or useless?

Funny thing I cut a pile of them and found that they were too thick for my 60 # bow once spined. Now I am hunting now with a 46# bow with a milkweed string. I was able to use it because now they are the correct diameter and wt. The picture is me in the stand in real time.
