I will keep my eyes open for you....I have traded a few on here in the past......I don't care for using a hatchet at all.....to easy to mess up.
Happy hunting to all!

farrier's rasp is great for wood removal to rough out a bow.  I love mine.  They are easy find.  3Rivers carries them.  I saw on at Tractor Supply or Ace Hardware a week or two ago.

BUT, for tillering you need a scraper of some kind that will take off small curls of wood while leaving the limbs relatively smooth.  Cheap, quick and easy--take apart a pair of scissors.

Is this bow making a sickness? or the cure...

theres an old hardware store here in kc called harry j epsteins(google for their website and catalog)
was talking to steve, one of the two brothers who own the place(harry was their grandpa), about farriers rasps just wed.
he told me he just bought a crate of new old stock(made in usa) nickelson farriers rasps and they would be in next week sometime.
he said they would be selling them for about $15.

good place to check in with periodically. they often get in cases of new old stock hand tools(and weird old military surplus items).
steve is always on the lookout for old warehouse finds.
the good ones made in usa. i have picked up numerous nickelson and other wood rasps, files  and such.
great guys to deal with. they back up what they sell.
ifn yr ever in kc it is well worth yr time to stop in. there is no place else quite like epsteins.
