Ive been working on a red oak board bow lately and i screwed up the handle and fade area so bad that i had to peel it off and start over. I already had it ready for the long string when i messed it up so i built up the new hanlde from three lams hoping that would keep it from popping off. It held untill i got it tillered out to 28" @ 55#. The second time i pulled it to 28 the handle popped off. I had tightly wrapped both fades and the handle with cord so no other dammage was done. Anyway i cleaned it up and glued the handle back on. Then today i inlaid a 1/4" x 4" piece on each side of the handle.
First side glued up.
Both sides glued and roughed out.
Tommorow i will wrap both fades and string up. I will post more whether it holds or fails.
