First Serviceberry i made (reworked)

Ok, so this bow was the very first serviceberry i successfully made. It's about 6 months old but to me that's pretty long. I renewed the tiller, dropped the weight by like 20#, and heat treated it. Also redid the handle and added a grip. it has two coats of Tung oil, plan to put more. It means quite a bit to me that i'm still shooting it when it was one of my first bows, and i hope it survives even longer now that i have some more skill lol.

65# 25" seems really light tho!
about 54" ntn


PS the leather came from Tattoo dave. Thanks alot bro! I know your probably wincing at the horrible job i did with it but hey it was my first attempt and at least it kind of looks like a caveman did it out in the bush!  ;D ;D ( i had to honor this bow somehow)

Wow that was quick thanks man! i also forgot to say it can be drawn to 26" an probably beyond. Its fun to shoot but i wouldnt hunt with it...

Nice job Zion.  Handle is a little rough but look at my early ones!  My recent handles are only marginally better!

Looks great Zion. That's a fine bow. The handle wrap looks fine to me! This is primitive archer...it doesn't need to be pretty to make meat. ;)

I guess i shoulda said this before and maybe taken a pic of it to reduce confusion, obviously diliviu noticed it tho, the reason why the top limb bends agressively  in the fade is because i had a spazz attack with the drawknife on the tip when i was reducing weight. the depth is less than a pencil is wide, about a third of what would be considered safe. Hence, i tried to get all the bend away from the tip so it wouldn't completely snap off lol. I guess if the fade starts chrysaling, etc., i'll take more off midlimb, but for now its fine. Thanks for reminding me diliviu, i appreciate a critical eye.
