Someone mentioned a post on heat treating by a member named Marc. I tried to find it could not - hope someone can help.

That would be Marc St. Louis who is the expert in heat treating. He has a post that has good video of the process. He also wrote an excellent how to in the Traditional Bowyer's Bible Vol. 4 which is certainly worth the read.

Thank you all. Having seen this, I would definitely put myself in the too close and too fast catagory - will change that and build one of them gun holders.
