I was wonderring, since I got a batch of carbon shafts from back when a friend of mine shot compound, how would you tie trade points on them? wooden insert??? Ideas??? thanks!

Howdy. My first thought is
, but assuming you're serious I would suggest just slotting the end of the shaft and gluing/ tying the point on as for a bamboo or wooden shaft. You may need to use a lot of pitch to fill the core of the shaft and smooth over the transition. Ron

I've seen it slotted and then filled with epoxy and wrapping behind the point with thread and soak in super glue. Or take an aluminum screw in adapter and slot and wrap it and then screw it in. Or,,, just send them to me and I'll send you a bunch of cane shafts and you can make you some primitive arrows.

If it were me, I'd slot an adapter before cutting up a shaft.

I made some last year,i epoxied a dowel about 2 inches ,,cut and trimmed then cut my notch and mounted my trade points. Worked well but I still like cane shafts better.

It should be no big trick to slot an aluminium adapter.
