Iam new to building bow, and wonder if i could use
Polyurethane to coat a freshly cut tree. Thanks

Yes that will work.....white Elmers glue works very good, and shellac also.

ANYTHING that forms a somewhat water tight film will work. Just use what you have available in your garage.

I put 3 or 4 coats of polyurethane on the ends. I know it's overkill, but as much work as it is to harvest trees, I'd rather overdo it than take a chance on them checking.

I like to dip my stave ends in deck stain. It really seals it off.

Thanks. Iam really looking foward to getting everything started. I have access to alot of oak trees and a couple iam not sure about but plan on finding out.
