Hunting Dragonflies Part 2

I guess we are a bit different up here.  Most people brought up in the country know that Dragonflies are a man's best ally against biting insects and many look forward to their appearance in the Summer.  Soon after they come out you literally see the Horsefly, Deerfly and Blackfly population begin to dwindle.  They are an incredible insect and I have watched them many times catching insects on the fly.

Big difference between accidentally hitting one with your car, I actually make the effort to miss them when I can, and deliberately shooting them.

Grasshoppers are tasty even without molasses and I've been know to eat the odd Ant as well, I even munch on Mosquitoes and other biting insects when they become too annoying.

In any case, do as you all please.

Do you have the honey ants up there, Marc?  From what I read, those are certainly worth time spend foraging!

Can't say I have ever heard of Honey Ants before JW. 

Looked them up and we definitely don't have those up here, kinda wish we did

I had a Kentucky House Wife cookbook once that had a recipe for cardinal.     when you're hungry you eat.  I may not go out shooting DFs every week, but if I get a chance and think I can retrieve my arrow,....well, I may take a shot or 6. dp

I want to tell you what I did in the span of time it took billy to film the killing of  1 dragonfly in his movie. If you have a weak stomach you might want to stop reading now. The images you are about to see are graphic and disturbing. I went to the Grand Canyon. I knew the risk of my actions but felt it was justified because I wanted to see nature in all of its splendor. Now Billy's actions were   disturbing because he was having fun while killing one incest but I was having fun while enjoying nature. Also no one has mentioned that Billy was also stepping on plants which I did not do while driving and burning tanks of gas on asphalt roads in our national forest. I think most of you will agree that I did nothing wrong because I love nature unlike the df killer.

I was out doing a bit of target practice tonight and had a visitor stop by while I collected my arrows, and he hung around long enough to run into the house and grab a camera

I just got your DVD in the mail today Billy and am watching it right now.  Pretty good stuff so far!  I love watching those squirrels fly as the arrows wizz past them

That was the bow I got in the bow trade last year, from Darcy (DEllis).  It's actually paint, not stain.  I think its acrylic.  BTW, it's still shooting great Darcy!

Nice tip overlays Cameroo, John you are a killing machine. Marc they are kind of like Dirt dobbers around here ,they kill lots of spiders [which I don't care for] so I don't kill them.
