It'll probably be on a chunk of Yew or a rock when it's finished.
I'll post a pic when it's finally finished, that'll be next weekend some time I expect.
I've shortened the arms a whisker and increased the curve on the full draw bow, the right foot needs some work as he's off balance at the moment, he's s'posed to be aiming slightly down as if aiming at a hog about 20 yards away ;D.
It's looking better and better as I'm cleaning up the details and improving the finish.

That is very cool, Del. Except for finish work I'd leave it just like it is. To me it gives the full story.  8)

Cheers guys, I'm really pleased it meets with the approval of those who really know what it's about.
I've just about got it finished, I dare not sand it too much as it's V fiddly, so I quit at 240 grit.
I've just applied Danish oil with a small artists brush (it belong to Toulouse Lautrec ;D ) and it's reall brought out the colour :). By next year it will have darkened a shade too.
I'll post a finished pic on Thurs with any luck.

Does this little guy have a name yet?  If not, I'd like to suggest he be called "ARCHIE"!  A replica of this guy could be commissioned as a mantle top award for high levels of accomplishment in Traditional Archery and Bow Making kinda like the Oscar's and Tony's of that more violent sport called Entertainment!  We could establish an International Academy of Traditional Archery or some such thing...

Here is the finished article an the original sketch. I had a block of Oak which I sliced for the base I think it looks a bit like a rocky outcrop.
